New for 2020 - Dorm Room Options!
PBL Ohio Institute is pleased to announce that we have partnered with Otterbein University to provide a limited number of on-campus dormitory rooms within DeVore Hall for the nights of July 28-30, 2020. DeVore Hall is an air-conditioned student dormitory built in 2006, offering suite style living with one double room connected to another double room via a shared bathroom. Staying at this residence hall allows attendees to walk to the PBL Ohio Institute, as well as dozens of local restaurants and walking paths in the uptown Westerville community. Rooms are being offered as single occupancy but contain 2 single beds. If you would like to share the room with another person from your organization, feel free to make those arrangements on your own.
In the coming months we will contact all dorm room registrants to obtain the name of your roommate, if you choose to have one. We will make every effort to make each pair of adjoining rooms like-gender. Each room will share a bathroom with another room. No private bathrooms are available within Devore Hall. |
The total fee for each three-night stay is $210, inclusive of taxes. Registrants may select this option during the registration process.
Sheets and towel will be provided for each dormitory room. Pillows, blankets and toiletries will not be provided. Please plan to bring your own pillow and blanket, if needed. An $80 charge will be assessed for room keys not turned in at checkout. |
PBLWorks' fifth annual PBL Ohio Institute is being hosted by PBLMatters at Otterbein University. Founded in 1847, this charming campus is located in Westerville, Ohio, 14 minutes from Columbus' John Glenn International airport and close to dozens of hotels--with an option to stay at affordable on-campus dormitories. This tree-lined community has a walkable uptown with dozens of restaurants, shops and fitness trails. Just like PBLWorld, the PBL Ohio Institute will offer a pre-conference option of Project Slice on July 28 AND PBL 101; PBL 201; PBL Coaching, and PBL Leadership workshops, July 29-31. The Institute will also offer keynote presentations by Andre Daughty, students from the Dayton Regional STEM School and featured aspects of "Out of the Gate", a PBLWorks Higher Education partnership with Otterbein University faculty and pre-service teachers.
