2020 PBL Ohio Institute
PBLWorks' fifth annual PBL Ohio Institute is being hosted by PBLMatters at Otterbein University. Founded in 1847, this charming campus is located in Westerville, Ohio, 14 minutes from Columbus' John Glenn International airport and close to dozens of hotels--with an option to stay at affordable on-campus dormitories. This tree-lined community has a walkable uptown with dozens of restaurants, shops and fitness trails. Just like PBLWorld, the PBL Ohio Institute will offer a pre-conference option of Project Slice on July 28 AND PBL 101; PBL 201; PBL Coaching, and PBL Leadership workshops, July 29-31. Each day, the Institute will offer special keynote presentations by: PBLWorks’ Chief Program Officer, Brandon Wiley; the dynamic urban educator - Andre Daughty; students from the Dayton Regional STEM School; and have special featured aspects of "Out of the Gate", a PBLWorks PreK-12 - Higher Education partnership with Otterbein University faculty and pre-service teachers. An optional one semester hour of graduate credit will be made available through Otterbein University for an additional fee.
The PBLWorks 5th annual PBL Ohio Institute is the Midwest's premier Project Based Learning event of the year. Each year, we bring together over 500 PK-16 teachers, instructional coaches, and school and district leaders who want to connect with each other and learn more about PBL. It's not like other conferences that have a variety of short sessions by many different presenters—it's an institute, where participants go through a continuous multi-day experience. We believe PBL transforms students - and the PBL Ohio Institute transforms educators!
